And what of Ye?
The artist formerly known as Kanye West is exhibiting some disturbing and potentially dangerous behavior.
Thoughts for the day
Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, seems to be having a meltdown before our very eyes.
He was banned from performing at the Grammys and suspended from Instagram for racist comments directed at The Daily Show host and upcoming Grammys host Trevor Noah. This after Noah called out his behavior to his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
That behavior? Continued harassment of Kardashian and her partner, comedian Pete Davidson, including a music video apparently showing a Claymation “Ye” kidnapping and dismembering a Claymation version of Davidson.
The inclination of many is to dismiss this as just Hollywood drama, but the problem with troubling behavior from pop stars is it sets a standard others live by. It’s the old Charles Barkley “I’m not a role model” argument, you don’t get to choose who looks up to you. A lot of people, particularly young ones, see this and decide it is acceptable behavior.
Genius artist or not, and I’ll leave it up to you to make that determination, this is not “performance art,” it is the behavior of someone who appears to be having severe mental issues, and something needs to be done before he hurts himself or others.

In a stunner, ESPN reports World No. 1 Ash Barty announced retirement from tennis at the age of 25, just weeks after winning the Australian Open for her third Grand Slam singles title.
Quote of the Day
“This is perfect for me. To share it with you, to talk to you about it with my team, my loved ones that I’ll be retiring from tennis. And that’s the first time I’ve actually said it out loud and yeah, it’s hard to say, but I’m so happy and I’m so ready, and I just know at the moment, in my heart, for me as a person, this is right.” — Ash Barty discussing her decision to retire from tennis in a conversation with close friend and former tennis player Casey Dellacqua.
